Uber Partners With SHLI to Bring 10 Million Rides to Vaccine Sites

The Satcher Health Leadership Institute (SHLI) has partnered with UBER Technologies to offer 10 Million Rides to vaccination sites. SHLI, alongside the National Urban League, and the National Action Network are serving as community partners to reach communities of color, and in particular, black communities, who have been hardest hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because this is a two dose vaccine, transportation access is of the utmost importance. We want to ensure that community members are able to make it to their vaccination appointments without the worry of how they will pay for transportation.

Access to care has long been one of the most pernicious of the social determinants of health and this pandemic has only exacerbated that problem. This is why we are so elated to be joining forces with Uber to work together to create equitable access to the vaccine for so many of our hardest hit communities.
