The Satcher Health Leadership Institute (SHLI) and the Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education (CMHDRE) at Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA), through collaboration and funding by Gilead Sciences Inc., are on a mission to address inequities in HIV care for people living with HIV (PLWHIV) through leadership training.
Program Dates:
The program begins from February 2024
Targeted Learners:
- Healthcare Providers and Trainees (e.g., Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Social Workers, etc.)
- Health Navigators
- Social Service Providers
- Community and Organizational Leaders/Representatives
- Policymakers and Influencers
Program Benefits
- Engagement with like-minded professionals to generate and exchange solutions towards achieving health equity for PLWHIV
- Knowledge and skill development to establish better trust and relationships among patients, clientele, and community
- Connection with health equity leaders and experts for learning opportunities
Program Requirements:
Participants will engage in facilitator-led and project-based learning up to six (6) hours per month, meeting every 1st Friday beginning February 2024.
