Enhancing and Strengthening Public Health
The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Satcher Health Leadership Institute (SHLI) at Morehouse School of Medicine invite you to apply to Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health (DELPH). This new program will increase and strengthen participants’ visibility and exposure within public health systems, access to key networks and leadership development opportunities.
Program participants will be selected from experienced public health professionals who self-identify from an underrepresented group including people of color, people with disabilities, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
This is a 12-month program with three in-person events.
- Washington Week, DC (Feb. 2022)
- Trip to CDC, Atlanta, GA (July 2022)
- Graduation, DC (Sept. 2022)
Goals of the Program
The DELPH program will provide opportunities for participants to explore individual leadership identity and actions to positively influence the work and culture of organizations through communication, leadership, and goal setting.
The program will be customized for each participant to support their individual leadership goals, including executive coaching. The DELPH Program is structured to enhance and strengthen each participant’s:
- Visibility and exposure in governmental public health.
- Access to key networks and leadership opportunities.
- Personal leadership identity.
- Personal leadership development plan.
- Connections to a peer support network.
Applications are now open for Cohort 1 of the DELPH program. We are looking for 15 mid-to-senior-level governmental public health professionals to join us. This first cohort will focus on people of color from underrepresented groups such as women, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
