SHLI Division of Health Policy

The Division of Health Policy provides leadership and prepares leaders committed to promoting policies and practices that reduce disparities and advance health equity.  Our work is multidisciplinary, acknowledging that achieving health equity requires a health-in-all-policies approach that collaborates across sectors and disciplines.  To this end, our activities focus on training the next generation of health policy leaders, engaging with communities and partners across sectors, collaborating on research, and informing and influencing policies to promote health equity.

Our Health Policy Leadership Fellowship program, completing its eighth year has 35 graduates in leadership roles in academia, agencies, and healthcare and community-based organizations across the country. We partner with over 30 community-based organizations and agencies across the country to collaborate on training, research, and advocacy. Our research is focused on developing the best evidence-based practices, policies, and health policy training approaches to advance health equity and develop health equity leaders.
